育才学校的前身是基督教培贤女子神学院,始建于1920年。解放后,由市人民政府接管办起工农速成中学。1953年8月,改为广州市育才小学。1956年,育才小学与市立东区二小、东区八小、私立道青小学合并为保安街二小,后称寺贝通津小学。1960年9月,由市教育局指定进行十年一贯制试验,与市七中合为广州师院附属实验学校。1964年,复名寺贝通津小学。1986年9月开始在三至五年级开设体育班。1988年——1989年度先后招收小学和初中一年级体育生,并于1988年5月定名为“东山区育才体育运动实验学校”,后又定名为“东山区育才学校”。2001年被评为广州市一级学校。2003年2月,育才学校与育鹰小学、水均岗小学三所学校合并,搬迁到东风东路782号,保留了“东山区育才学校”的校名。

一个单位就像一条船,船要行得快而稳,一方面必须要有优秀的掌舵人,另一方面必须有年轻力壮、拼搏合作的划船者。学校有一支奉献进取的干部队伍。学校的10位行政干部中40岁以下的有8人,其中30岁以下的有6人,年龄、学科结构合理。几年来,学校已经培养、输送了3名优秀的校长;学校有一支充满活力的教师队伍。该校有教职工79人,其中,中高级教师31人,占教师总数40.7%,35岁以下的年轻教师占教师总数的86%;学校教师中现有党员38人,占教师总数的56.4%。全部教师都是师范院校毕业,均具备教师任职资格,学历达标100%,其中本科毕业生占93%。该校的年轻教师在不断地走向成熟,创造了许多不俗的业绩。有许多年轻教师成为区教研室中心组成员,有许多教师承担了市、区级公开课,有许多年轻教师走上了科组长、级组长的岗位,工作十分出色。他们都年轻有为,拼搏进取,为育实的事业作出了自己的贡献。

学校经过多年探索,确定“精·艺”教育的办学理念,确立“立德立礼,博学精艺”的校训,教师们敬业爱岗,形成了“明礼明德,乐教乐学”的校风,以“精细的管理、精致的活动、精品的打造”为实施策略,以“培养博学精艺的少年”为育人目标,要把学校办成一所“精·艺”教育特色学校。学校遵循教育规律,坚守教育工作本质,尊重学生并支援学生成长,提供多元学习经历,协助不同能力的学生自尊自信和发展优秀的品格与才能。

Yucai school, formerly known as Christian peixian seminary for women, was founded in 1920. After liberation, the municipal people's government took over and set up the gongnong school.
